This Violin Of 8 Bits May Be The Best Instrument Ever

Flickr user Ranjit put together an impressive violin 8-bit and took pictures of it. He also recorded a video Bre Pettis (MakerBot and fame) to play. Trust me, you may want to check this.

Wondering what a violin at 8-bit, anyway? No, not playing music chiptune. Rather, the violin was grainy, 8-bit style, using all the angles. In the photo above makes things pretty clear, although some better photos in my Flickr page. The work deck is particularly cool.

The message that explains the work said it was a play violin built both maple and oak. And the sign mentioned the instructions to download thingverse, it seems reasonable to assume that the parts were laser cut or CNC machining of all kinds. Anyway, maybe you can make your own violin to 8 bits, one day before!
