Stuff I've been doin'...

Everytime I turn the computer on there are tons of things that want to be updated. I usually ignore them. The other day, though, I did update to Windows Explorer 8. I've been having minor issues ever since. For instance, I'm not allowed to visit walmart.com anymore. ?? Then I began getting a message saying that I HAD to upgrade my Messenger stuff or I wouldn't be allowed to sign on ever again. So I clicked "ok." I gave the computer its way, hoping to keep it happy. I got a message saying it couldn't be done. So, okay...I can't sign into Messenger as is, but it won't allow me to download the upgrade. Screw it. I just deleted Live Messenger. I don't even pretend to be smart enough to understand why these things happen. I just automatically assume I've screwed something up and when I get to a certain point I'll take the computer in to be cleaned up and de-Angied. *sigh*

I've been enjoying the cooler temps. It's awesome when it doesn't hit 90. With all the rain, though, it has been quite humid. Also, with the rain, I just want to stay home and sleep/read/watch old movies/sew. Work has been so busy this semester that I hate to take off unless I have to, but I think I'm gonna have to. I have a bad case of the "dontgiveashits."

This big-ass football stadium Jerry Jones built is monstrous. I'll probably never see a game there because I don't want to take a second mortgage out on the house to be able to afford tickets. The prices are unreal. I am worried, though. They have this cool area where the players walk through a "club" which I'm assuming is a cross between a concession stand and a bar. As they keep saying on tv "it's one of the unique aspects of the stadium." It'll all be hunky dory while the Cowboys are winning - but what happens when some drunk fan is pissed off after a loss and tries to confront a player? We've had people run onto tennis courts to do a player harm, run onto soccer and baseball fields trying to get to players/coaches - why give such access to the players and coaches? It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt (as my mama used to say). Anyway, I'm worried. There are waaaaay too many crazies in the world right now and I would think professional sports would be taking steps to protect their investments (players) instead of exposing them to potential hazards. I wonder if they have metal detectors?

I was at the first event held at Texas Stadium and the first games ever played at the Astrodome. It would have been cool to go to the first game at the new stadium, even if I'm not a Jerry Jones fan. [Note to Gina: YES, I saw Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, and other famous Yankees play LIVE.]

Did anybody see the highlights of Johnny Knox for the Chicago Bears? That's one of MY guys! Very sweet young man and he has gorgeous clear brown eyes. Go Johnny!!!!

Y'all have a good week.

I'm not so sure I like it. I had a friend that took the tour and hated it. "Worse $100 I'd ever spent" is what she said. She toured in Aug when it wasn't quite finished.

Okay, not a football fan so that all sounds like 'blah, blah, blah' but I have to tell you your cucumber recipe was FABULOUS, as advertised. I did not, however, slather my armpits with it because, well, that would be wasteful and one with any good sense would NOT waste that stuff.
Thanks!
