fyi

You know what's reallllly irritating? That's when ya write a comment on someone's blog, and they respond to you on their own blog. You know, they post a comment on their own blog responding to your comment, as if you're gonna check back. Or as if their post was sooo fascinating that you'll come back and read it several more times just to marvel at their brilliance. I found out people do this on the old place where I used to blog, and someone on blogger referred me to their comments not long ago. UH??? I just find that a little arrogant. At least have the decency to come over here and comment on MY blog, even though that's kinda turdish, too, because I then wonder if you even read my blog or if you're so wrapped up in your's and responding to my response that you just used my comment space as a personal forum.

I think that's part of why I dislike *facebook*. Don't get me wrong - I'm on it - I just don't like it. I cratered to peer pressure and reopened my face, er, page, er, site, er, whatever. Anyway...that's how it seems to work over there. I post a thought, people comment on my thought, then I post more thoughts about their comments to my thoughts. Bleah. I leave comments on my "friends" thoughts because, well, how else will they know I'm really a friend? And I don't "add" friends unless they really are a friend. I'm not one to add anyone just to up my friend tally. Or, as I like to say, I'm not a *facebook whore*. (Maybe other kinds of whore, just not that one.)

Another reason I'm down on *facebook* is because many of my blogger buddies whose writing I very much enjoyed reading have opted to spend more time there than on their blogs. It does take more time to write a few paragraphs about one's thoughts, the day, events of their lives, but it's so much more enjoyable to read. I feel like people are yelling at me on *facebook*, like a communication drive-by. Instead of words being used to describe feelings and events I get short messages filled with acronyms and punctuation marks. Bleah. After reading many messages I find myself thinking, "what did THAT mean?" Then I let it go because it's not worth pursuing the correct meaning. Why should I spend time interpreting when the writer didn't spend much time expressing?

I have some wonderful friends that I met through blogging. I feel like I'm a little familiar with their lives, their beliefs, their character. The messages I read on *facebook* are not nearly so interesting. The blogs are friends stopping in for a glass of iced tea and a visit. *Facebook* is a friend drivin' by and honkin' their horn as they speed on with their lives. I appreciate the honk, but I sure do miss those visits.

Well, stop over at my place and I'll fix you supper too. But I gotta warn you, I'm one of those FB whores who has friended all my high school buddies and others. Even so, I find that I'm much more of a blogger than a Facer... definitely wouldn't say Booker... so I'll opt for drive-by mini-blogger, which is what I think FB really is. (Don't get me started on Twitter.) I can say things here without worrying about how it'll be taken by my neighbor, fellow parishioner, sorority sister, or potential employer (not that I'm giving up my chosen profession anytime soon, if at all). So, pull up a seat, Angie, 'cause I'm not leavin'. Not unless that #&@*%!$ stalker of mine figures out where I've gone.

That's exactly it. It's a drive by "howdy" but I do enjoy facebook.
I play the games.
I don't blog there becuz well, my family and actual friends are there and they are good blog fodder.
And would totally freak their shit out if they knew about "Nadine and Roy".
Totally Freak Their Shit!!!!

And I hate that some people feel the need to comment on their on blogs. Have the courtsey of coming over to me and seeing what I'm all about. If we click, so be it.
I like to read some blogs and not comment at all.
But there are those that I will without a doubt make a comment....you, Thystle, Katy, and Gina. If I don't leave a comment, it's not becuz I didn't read it the blog, Sometimes it's just that I'm pressed for time....I have like 20 blogs that I follow. I really need to cut that back too.
Those that read like a letter from Roy's parents...We went to church. We had lunch. We weeded the garden. BIG DAMN DEAL!
If they have family overseas or on the other side of the states and need the rely the every day happenings...go for it.
And I'm not really into MommyBloggers. Been there done that and I don't wanna relive the excitement of Jr makin' poop for the first in the big boy toilet.

But those people feel the need to get it out there....that's their call.

And those blogs that have links to YouTube?? What's up with that??? These people won an award for being good at blogging and only have 2 commentor a day get a freakin' award???!!!! I really thought it was a big deal to be nominated until I saw that crap going on....What ever!

Okay so I've blog a day's for over here on you.

Happy?

Love and Hugs...see you on Facebook.

Oh and another thing....
I don't leave comments on those bloggers that insist on having those damn word verify things. It's too much word to have to retype that gibberish becuz well I'm blonde with a touch of dyslexia!!

Pat a Whackage!!!

see, you've got me on a roll.

I am here, I am on FB, too, but not nearly as much. But you know that I am always stopping by to check up on you. Always have, always will. Hope that you will stop by and say hi to me, too!

leave comments on my own blog instead of replying to the person directly - guilty, but i can change ;)

as for facebook, i only regularly communicate with a handful of people on there, the rest may have once sat next to me in school & assume we're friends, so i won't tell them otherwise

I haven't had any real desire to get on FaceBook and your words sure make me glad that I haven't bothered!

Miz Angie, I shamefully admit to not doing a whole lot of useful stuff online at all anymore. I did post a teeny blogette & some photos, but honestly, I'd rather be outside playing these days.

I'm a damn fast texter now though, thanks to teenage son, 15 year old niece and 17 year old nephew. What does that get me?

Miss you Mama!! ~Aims

Hey MizA…

I think you need to come back to WLS.

Facebook??? Send me an invite. Don’t worry I won’t send you a poke, farm land crap, or whatever else…I don’t understand that stuff.

But we can stay in better blog communication with football season on the way.

I sent in for three tickets for the Texas vs. Missouri game on October 29th. Those are for my son going to camp.

Hopefully, we can hit a Notre Dame game too this year in South Bend. I think they play Washington State in the new Cowboy’s stadium this year also…

I stick with Blog Quest so I can write down my thoughts, feelings, bullshit…Whatever you want to call it. But I’m on the same page with you on these other sites. People don’t come around as much with something to share. That’s unfortunate. Because more in-depth conversation is more important than just a few words.

I guess you and I like to lay on the horn and give someone the finger…I mean wave and strike up a conversation.

Stay cool down there in Texas…Gregster

He was "kinda hot"???? Now if he weren't so mean, he would have been totally off the charts. But dang, that actor had the right moves!
